For passionate singers, music lovers, and community-minded patrons across New Jersey, Harmonium Choral Society is a nationally recognized choral ensemble that offers artistically ambitious, emotionally resonant, and socially relevant performances. Unlike traditional choirs that focus solely on musical presentation, Harmonium creates immersive experiences that dissolve the boundary between performer and audience—where every voice belongs, and every performance reflects the shared stories of our time and community.

Harmonium Choral Society, formed in 1979, is recognized for its musical excellence and innovative programming. Directed by Dr. Anne Matlack, the 100+ volunteer choir and 25-voice Chamber Singers are chosen through a selective audition process. We perform a broad choral repertoire with music from many cultures and time periods and have a commitment to commissioning new works. Our choir is multi-generational and includes high school and college age singers, teachers, IT professionals, artists, lawyers, and nurses, medical professionals to name a few. Many singers lead their own choirs in schools or at places of worship. Harmonium is a proud member of Chorus America, and NJ Choral Consortium.

    SING THE CIRCLE WIDE – A Community Sing-In Concert

     Saturday, September 27 | 3:00 PM Rehearsal • 5:00 PM Concert
    Morristown United Methodist Church, 50 South Park Place

    Join acclaimed composer and organist Mark Miller, Harmonium singers, Drew Theological School Choir, and local voices for an evening of unity and joy. Whether you're a lifelong singer or just love music, come raise your voice in this collaborative sing-in event. Music will be provided and feature Miller’s anthem We Call You Beloved. Join at 3pm to sing or at 5pm to enjoy the concert.

    Come sing with our choral community. There will be non-alcoholic beverages, food and games. Your ticket includes entry and one beer/drink. This fun evening is open to the public, and we encourage you to invite friends, family, and coworkers – everyone is welcome!

    Celebrate the extraordinary musical talent found right here in the Garden State. New Jersey Musical Mosaic is a collaborative concert event presented by The Discovery Orchestra, with Harmonium Choral Society’s Chamber Singers and featuring performances and live insights from composers and musicians from New Jersey.

    The evening also includes special performances by renowned NJ composer and organist Mark Miller, who will play selections of his own work live. Audiences can expect not only beautiful music but also rich educational commentary from The Discovery Orchestra’s Maestro Maull that connects composer, context, and emotion.

     SONGS WE LOVE TO SING – A Cabaret Fundraiser

    A lively, intimate evening of music and community featuring Harmonium singers performing their favorite songs in a variety of styles—from Broadway to ballads. Funds raised will support Harmonium’s education programs, student composer contest, and community outreach. This is a catered event with wine and a curated silent auction.

    BACH’S B MINOR MASS with The Sebastians

    St. Mary’s Abbey, Mendham

    Under the baton of Stephen Sands, members of Harmonium join forces with The Sebastians and Music in the Somerset Hills to present one of the pinnacles of sacred choral music: J.S. Bach’s B Minor Mass. This majestic collaboration promises a transcendent musical experience with power and reverence.
